Synopsis: Ermessenda of Carcassone, Countess of Barcelona, Girona, and Osona, was a woman who ruled for sixty years and did so above her son and despite her grandson. She ruled in a world of men, a remarkable fact in the XI century –although not extraordinary- and did so without hiding behind the shadow of her offspring, with whom she even fought in order to hold on to power.
ABOUT THE MUSIC: Classic orchestral music mixed with choirs, electronics, and some ethnic instruments.
“Beautiful and elegant creation that the composer develops in the fields of the ambient and the dramatic. The music for the environment recreates a powerful, solemn environment, with choirs and substance in medieval music, while the dramatic part is universalized with symphonic music of careful refinement, very emotional, which exposes a certain fragility and tenderness, but also strength and energy. Its main theme is brilliant.” MundoBSO
ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE: The music was conducted by David Hernando, recorded with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, and mixed by Marc Blanes at BSO Superestudio, Barcelona.
